Attucks Cultural Center, all steelpan classes are held on the stage of the beautifully renovated Attucks Theatre in Norfolk. Multi-cultural Performing Arts Consulting is committed to continuing in the legacy of cultural contributions offered to the community by the Historic Attucks Theatre.
Our Saturday Pan in the Community Steelband classes are designed for both Adults and Kids to participate in beginning steelbands without needing to read music. Both classes have performance opportunities available throughout the year. All instruments and materials are provided.
Jr. Mosaic (Youth Class) 9:00AM-10:15AM
This beginning class is designed to serve as training for our community enrichment program, Mosaic Steel Orchestra. Kids ages 8 through 14 are eligible to participate in Jr. Mosaic. Fee: $50 (five classes)
Pans on Fire (Adult Class) 10:30AM-NOON
This beginning class is for primarily for adults. Some mature teens 15yrs+ may participate as well. Fee: $75 (five classes)
Registration: Registration is open. You may join the class at any time.
Attendance: If your schedule is irregular, you are not required to attend five consecutive classes. Once fees have been paid, you are guaranteed five classes.
