Multi-cultural Performing Arts Consulting, (MPAC) offers workshops and residences conveniently at your location. These offerings are available to a wide variety of groups including Schools, Churches, Community and Youth Organizations. MPAC presents educational and entertaining presentations that provide a general understanding of world music and how music functions in foreign cultures.

World Music Workshop-Presentation (1 hour): Contact us for pricing and availability
Workshop provides a historical and musical journey from Sub-Saharan Africa through Trinidad and Cuba to the United States. During this workshop several instruments from across the world are demonstrated. The presentation also reveals parallels and differences within the African Diaspora that have shaped world music for hundreds of years. This offering is appropriate for all age groups and includes audience participation.

African Drum and Dance Workshop-Performance (6 hours): Contact us for pricing and availability
Hands on workshop geared towards performance at end of day. This is a full-day three-part workshop in which all participants will learn drumming and dance movements for two (2) traditional West African dances. The first part, (2.5 hours) focuses on drumming. The second part, (2.5 hours) focuses on dancing. The third part (1 hour) is the actual education performance which will culminate with your group performing. This offering is suitable for groups or organizations with energetic members. (Limit 25 participants)

Steel Drum Residency (1 week - 9 weeks): Contact us for pricing and availability
Steel Drum Residencies allow members of your school or organization get hands on training on the only world renowned acoustic instrument created in the 20th. Residencies are geared towards performance and prepare participants give a dynamic presentation. Steel drum residencies are fun, exciting and they provide a wealth of knowledge about this Trinidadian art form. This offering is appropriate for kids ranging from elementary school through adult.
